Going Green Competition

Here at American Products we’re known for offering high quality, customizable materials, at extremely competitive prices that meet your retail and commerical opening needs. With our full range of products and state-of-the art fabrication facility, we constantly strive for innovative ways to improve upon our systems providing our customers with the best materials possible. It is with that mindset that API has begun to look at ways to improve our systems in terms of recycling and preventing unnecessary waste here at our facility.

Last week we started a companywide Go Green Competition. We have been broken up into 6 teams and will compete to see which API team can come up with the most effective and creative ways for our company to Go Green here in the office and at home. Our first team task was to come up with creative team names.
These are the names that our 6 Teams came up with:
  1. The Green Savers
  2. The Big Green Machine
  3. Veni Vidi Verde
  4. Gang Green
  5. Verde Nation
  6. The Hot Green Tamales
Yes… we sure do have some creative minds here at API! The next task will be to come up with ways to lessen the environmental footprint we are leaving behind for future generations.

The teams will be judged on the following criteria:
  • Environmental Impact
  • Completeness
  • List of Parts or Tools Needed
  • Usefulness
  • Creativity
  • Cost
  • Team Work
Everyone here at API is excited to see what the teams come up with and what new Green Systems we can put in place for the upcoming year!

Stop by our Facebook & Twitter pages for updates on our competition

Local Architects Visit API

Last Friday, September 16th, American Products opened our doors to the AIA Architects of Tampa Bay, giving them a chance to experience, first hand, how our custom products are made.

After a short introduction to API, our visiting architects were taken on a tour of our facility. During the tour they were introduced to some of our latest, state of the art manufacturing equipment and learned how it is used to extrude, fabricate, finish and customize various architectural products. They were also able to view live brake metal fabricating and powder coating demonstrations.

Following the tour, our guests were brought back to our corporate offices where they enjoyed an informational, networking lunch. This was their chance to ask and questions or speak one on one with members of our sales and project management teams.

For attending this Tour & Luncheon, the AIA Architects were able to earn 1 Continuing Education Credit.

API enters the Blogging World!

American Products, Inc. (API) is a trusted supplier of storefront materials such as brake metal, powder coated products, entry door hardware, and handrails to many retailers nationwide. I know what you are thinking- what does that mean? In simple terms, we make the malls look good!

"As shoppers briskly race between anchor stores within their local malls, many are coming to a complete halt as they admire beautiful, well-crafted storefronts and are compelled to get a closer look, and it is not necessarily the display behind the glass that is stopping them in their tracks". All the major retailers are investing tons of money into their storefronts to attract you, the "paying" customer, to their store. The basic, dull facade is a thing of the past. Think tinted glass, asymmetrical designs, and true artistic design.

What storefronts impress you the most?
